Even The Stones Dream
"Even The Stones Dream" was taken in my garden of mostly weeds. I cast the face out of cement and use several of them as decorations there. The day this was taken was very hot and muggy and I think I got about ten mosquito bites in the few minutes it took to snap this picture.
Near Death
I took this image on a frosty morning at the Menomonie Wastewater Plant. Hoar frost had encircled the end of a pipe. I used the macro setting. The center of the image is simply light from the other end of the pipe. The only alteration is trimming.

Jill Frost
This winter we had exquisite frost formations inside a compromised thermopane. Next year the window will probably have developed a permanent fog. But we will still have the capturesd images!

"Are you listening?" - Tied Winner for Kids Category
This is a photo of my 4 year old son Benjamin and his 6 month old sister Isabella. It was taken in our home as the sun peered through the window. They were playing together and suddenly she grabbed his face as if to say, "Listen to me!".
Jessica Agustin
Menomonie
I've been waiting 6 months to try this????
This was the first time our daughter tried baby food. After the first bite she looked at us like..."This is what I have to eat...are you kidding??" I was so glad that I captured the expression.

This is a shot of my beautiful niece Alexa on Christmas Eve.

Snowy Morn
The beauty of this morning was breathtaking. It was the morning of our huge snowstorm in March...all the snow had melted...then came MORE...but who really cared with a sight like this!!! This was taken from a 3rd floor balcony at Syverson Lutheran Home looking towards Owen Park.
Snow, Snow, Go Away
This picture was taken from a 3rd floor balcony at Syverson Lutheran Home. The view from there is just amazing, and even though we woke up to one of the worse snowstorms of the winter, the view in itself was well worth it. This is part of Owen Park and the back side of the University.
moonset over farmstead
This was taken northwest of Elk Mound. The sun was coming up, the moon was going down.
Hanging Smoke
One of those days when smoke travels horizontally. This was from an outdoor wood furnace so it is pretty low temperature smoke and that might have helped. Location is near intersection of hwy. 40 & E between Elk Mound and Colfax.
Wittle Waterfall
This is along the Chippewa River Trail between Caryville and Meridean.

Tony Wolf-The old stonecutter-My friend
My friend Tony Wolf who was a stone cutter for many years. He came into our restaurant in Downsville during the last few years of his life several times a week where he ate and talked to us. He taught me most of what I know about the history of the area. Sadly, he has recently passed into history. He was 94 years old.

Jack Frost
Frost formed inside a thermopane window. The formation is actualy no larger than your thumbnail. I rested the lens against the glass.

CAW!!
What happened to the funny category? This bird thought he had something to crow about. He seemed oblivious to my presence in the Eau Claire Wal-Mart parking lot. I love the way crows throw their whole bodies into a caw. Sort of like old people like me do with a joystick when attempting to play a video game. Note the lifted leg.
Old Glory
This was taken during the fall of 2007 at the Elk Mound Castle

Outside Looking In
My son at play in the back yard swingset. Great look of wonder on his face.

Foggy Ducks

sunset from circle lane
I raced to this location, jumped out of the truck, and snapped this picture seconds before the sun disappeared into the haze. I like it because, unlike the typical sunset scene, it has a three dimensional quality.

Persistence
I captured this image of my father-in-law, after his successful day of turkey hunting. The image was taken in Pepin County on a small farm we hunt. I titled it "Persistence" because any one who has hunted turkey's knows that it isn't as easy as it may seem, they are smarter than they may look, and some times it takes "Persistence" to successfully bag a bird.
