We ate dinner at Pad Thai recently, and we were impressed. Pad Thai is a small family-run restaurant in downtown Eau Claire. And we mean small.  While we were there a group of 20 came in to the restaurant which normally does not seat that many people altogether.  But the staff at Pad Thai dealt with it and seated everyone, although this required quite a lot of rearrangement.

But on to the food.  We had a small assortment of different  dishes, including Tom Yum with shrimp, and a curry dish. Both were nicely spiced and delicious. It's a surprise in the valley to order asian food, ask for it to be medium spicy, and have it come back as what I would consider medium spicy in other parts of the world. 

We also had several appetizers, including vegetarian egg rolls, and the satay chicken.  The rolls were very good - tasty but not greasy, and the sauces served with the chicken were much better than we're accustomed to.

In all, we were very happy with our Pad Thai visit, and recommend you go - but be prepared for the possibility of seating issues due to the size of the restaurant. If you have a group of any size, we'd recommend you give them a call first to make a reservation. 

Chip wants to give them a thumbs-up - but he doesn't have thumbs. So we'll just say go to Pad Thai for the most authentic Thai food in the area.
