Organic/Natural
Golden Leaf Cafe
The Golden Leaf Cafe is a new restaurant in Menomonie. featuring organic and natural food and drinks. It currently features a range of Fair Trade coffee, paninis, salads and soup (Lunch only from 10 to 2).
We stopped in shortly after they opened, The restaurant was still a little rough around the edges, but had a nice selection of organic coffees and teas (we had to test drive the coffee, and were favorably impressed). We'll be back in a few more weeks to see how it is after the owners have had a chance to settle in. Recommended.

The Creamery is temporarily closed - it has been sold and is undergoing renovations.
is a small, family-run business housed in the old Downsville Cooperative Creamery building, located in Downsville, Wisconsin, population 175. After a devastating flood in 1905, the course of the Red Cedar River was permanently changed. The Creamery is perched on the old river bank, about 1/4 mile east of the village center, near the present day river and the Red Cedar bike trail. The Creamery was remodeled by the Thomas family and opened in 1985. Since then, The Creamery has set new standards for dining, lodging and mellow hospitality in the Midwest.
